Here in Washington, D.C., I am part of a women in business organization.
At our last meeting, so many mentioned that are unable to get anything done at work till after hours because they spend the entire day in meetings.
While I think that meetings have great merit, they are becoming an overused tool.
The biggest faux pas I see is that people accept meetings without agendas. Why are you giving up your time without knowing why your time is needed?
To avoid meeting fatigue, always reach out to the meeting host to understand if you are needed or ask for an agenda. Or, feel free to decline meetings where this is not clear. If you were the CEO of your own company, you would not stand for taking meetings that were disorganized or unnecessary.
